Sengdroma Farm Estate

Salmon Point

May 9, 2008 · 3 Comments

In lieu of this Sunday when we finally get around to putting up the deer fence, I thought I would share with you the interesting day I had.

It all began with a phone call I made to PECCS (in relation to an article I read), this in turn led to them asking if I was still supply staff for a local day care. Long story short a home visit occured whereby I have been granted Licenced Home Day Care Status if I so choose it. To run a home school and have a licence is something I have thought about since discovering the Steiner school in Devon UK. It will need some planning and careful thought but the chance is not one too miss.

The home school philosophy ties in well with the long term plans concerning the estate as well - Tourist and Visitor Information and Development Centre.

To think things through we took the children on a drive to Salmon point which over looks Lake Ontario. There was a beautiful sunset and I decided to share it with yourselves.

And of course the perfect way to end an evening:

I just love your photography. What a beautiful site.
I don’t think I understand. Are you only going to home school your own children or will you teach other’s as well? It would fit in with the daycare.

The day care spans the age range of 3 -12 (it is up to the provider which age range to then choose). So I will run the day care along lines of the home schooling outlined in the Steiner link. Our youngest will be involved full time and our eldest will only be homeschooled 2 days a week - the rest he is at school (which he enjoys), I am then allowed 4 other children to home school. The best thing about it is the fact that the centre will have a licence.
